Will Season 8 Be The Last Season of How I Met Your Mother?!?!

For the past 7 years we have all laughed along to How I Met Your Mother but that could all soon be over after it was reported that season 8 will possibly be the last season of CBS’s hit show. Season 8; which is due to return to US screens on September 24th; could well and truly be the last season as the cast have all been reported saying that they think it’s time to move on. Earlier this month Jason Segel who plays lovable Marshall Erikson was quoted saying that he would be happy if season 8 is the last season as he wishes to move on with his acting career. Jason, who has recently been is successful films like Bad Teacher, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up and Gulliver’s Travels.

Jason is not the only cast member who would be happy to end at season 8. The breakout star of How I Met Your Mother Neil Patrick Harris has said that he would like to end season 8 as he is looking to do more theater work in the near future. He also said that the other cast members wouldn’t mind either. Over the last 5 years the cast members of the show have been achieving stuff outside of HIMYM. Josh Radnor who plays Ted Mosby has to be looking to start filming and directing his own movies in the near future, Neil Patrick Harris who plays Barney Stinston is looking to get more into theater, Jason Segel who plays Marshall Erikson is looking to focus more on his acting career, Alyson Hannigan who plays Lily Aldrin is looking to focus more on her family and being a mother and Cobie Smulders who plays Robin Scherbatsky is focusing on her acting career as well.

If season 8 is the final series of How I Met Your Mother than I think I speak for everyone when I say we will seriously miss the show.
